Muhammad Aslam Saleemi

Born on June 30, 1933 at Burj Kalan , Distt Kasur, Punjab, Chaudhry Muhammad Aslam Saleemi is a law graduate (1957) and also holds Masters degree in Islamic Studies (1973). He also obtained diploma education in Taxation and Labour Laws (1972) and has done elementary study in Arabic and special course of Tafseer (exegesis).

Enrolled as a pleader by West Pakistan High Court in 1957, and as Advocate High Court in 1961, he practiced as a lawyer for a few years.

Chaudhry Mohammad Aslam Salimi

Aslam Saleemi became member of Jama’at-e-Islami Pakistan in 1963. Starting from the sub-divisional level (Kasur), he worked in different capacities in the Jama’at, including Assistant Secretary General 1970-1987 and Secretary General 1987-1993. He became Naib Ameer of Jama’at-e-Islami Pakistan in 1993. He worked as Director, Islamic Publications and presently heading the, Islamic Research Academy, Mansoorah, Lahore.

He is well versed in Urdu, English, Arabic and Persian, apart from his mother language Punjabi.

Chaudhry Aslam Saleemi has widely travelled abroad, particularly to Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Iran, Afghanistan, UK, USA and Canada.
