Bismillah

Assalamu Alaikum: Peace Be With You
The Leadership of JI

Maulana Abdul Haq Baloch
Naib Ameer (Vice President)

Maulana Abdul Haq Baloch is respected among all schools of thought because of his gentle nature, religious stature and revered family background.
He belongs to a chieftain family of Zahrozai tribe of Balochistan. His family had inherited the religious leadership of the tribe for several generations. His father Maulana Mohammad Hayat was the tribal chief and a religious scholar who took active part in Pakistan movement.

Maulana Abdul Haq was born on January 5, 1947 in Kech (Makran Division) and received elementary education in local schools. He received religious education from Darul Uloom Karachi, the prestigious religious institution founded by Mufti-e-Azam Pakistan Mufti Mohammad Shafi. After graduating from there in 1973 he returned to Turbat, Balochistan and began teaching in Darul Uloom Turbat. He also taught English in Government school for three years. Maulana Sahib founded a school and a Madressah in Turbat in 1980 and also founded a Madressah in Quetta in 1999 where he is teaching at present.

Maulana Abdul Haq remained associated with Islami Jamiat Talaba during student life and formally joined Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan in 1980. His parliamentary career began in 1985 after he elected MNA. He remained district ameer of JI Turbat in early 80's, and elected JI Balochistan Ameer for five consecutive terms during 1988 to 2003. He was elevated to the slot of Naib Ameer JI Pakistan in 2004.

Maulana Abdul Haq has enthusiastically served the cause of Muslim unity and remained at the forefront of Milli Yakjehti Council (MYC), Ittehad Millat Islamia Mahaz (IMAM), and lately the MMA of which he is the current provincial general secretary. Maulana Sahib spearheaded all movements for sectarian unity in Balochistan. His services for the unification of Ummah are widely acknowledged by the people and can be gauged from the fact that he was offered high offices in all those movements. His role in MYC and IMAM paved the way for uniting all schools of thought in Balochistan province and swift establishment of MMA's Balochistan chapter.

Maulana Sahib has also been a towering voice against the separatist elements in Balochistan province and is known as one of the strong pillars of federation and national unity.

During his eventful political career, he was jailed thrice for opposing political and military regimes policies. He served short terms in prison for opposing Pakistani collaboration with US-led coalition invasion on Afghanistan in 2001, and before that for agitating against Nawaz Sharif regime for tabling controversial Shariat Bill in the parliament.

Imparting Quranic education has been the passion of Maulana Abdul Haq and he has remained engaged in it throughout his life, besides furthering the political cause of Islam. He also penned hundreds of articles and theses on various relevant issues for the press and at different conferences. He also wrote a book about the objectionable activities of Zikri sect which is concentrated in Balochistan and is criticized for its un-Islamic practices and attempts to cause divisions among Muslims.

Maulana Abdul Haq enjoys a commanding fluency over Urdu, English, Persian and Pushto languages besides his mother tongue Balochi. He has widely traveled in many countries in Asia and Middle East.
