Paracha
condemns education minister
Lahore,
Dec. 21: Jamaat-e-Islami
deputy secretary general Dr Farid Paracha has said that the
military rulers feel uneasy with Islamic teachings of Quran,
Hadith and Namaz because US agenda cannot be implemented without
removing them.
In
a statement on Wednesday, Dr Paracha said federal education
minister Gen Javed Ashraf Qazi has come from an army where even
non-matric can become Generals. Therefore, he said, the minister
is unaware of the uniform education system and the requirements of
brining the education compatible with the demands of 21st century.
The minister only has directives about Islamiat and social
studies.
Dr
Paracha said education minister should know that uniform education
system means similar education for all classes of social strata,
while in our country doors of modern education have been closed on
the poor. For modernizing education according to demands of 21st
century new researches and experiments in science subjects should
be introduced and standard of laboratories should be upgraded, but
our rulers are working just contrary to that and by decreasing
marks of practical exam in science they have tried to ensure no
more scientists like Dr Qadeer Khan could emerge from the country,
he concluded. |
