Unified
Kashmir Indian, Israeli and US ploy: Syed Munawar Hasan
Lahore,
Nov 25: Jamaat-e-Islami’s Secretary
General Syed Munawar Hasan has said handing over of relief
operation to the civil administration of Azad Kashmir and NWFP
latest by Nov 30 speaks of failure on the part of military regime.
“The
situation warrants that government should evolve coordination
strategy with the help of workers of political parties and NGO
providing relief help in the quake-hit areas. The proposal of
Unified Kashmir is joint ploy of India; Israel and America to
liquidate Kashmir issue. “Pakistani nation would not allow the
ruler to depart from the principled stance on Kashmir.”
He was
addressing a press conference in Islamabad on Saturday after his
return from the visit of quake-hit areas in the NWFP and Azad
Kashmir.
Replying to
reporters’ questions, he condemned the reiteration of the
proposal seeking to demilitarize LoC and self rule in Kashmir by
Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz and said notwithstanding such
proposals from Islamabad; New Delhi had charged Pakistan for cross
border terrorism which amounts to abuse of entire nation. “Prime
Minister should give a second thought to his reiteration after
this sheer disgust by India.”
Syed
Munawar Hasan said the government should come forward and evolve a
coordinated relief strategy by engaging NGOs and relief workers of
political parties whose majority belongs to affected areas.
People, he said, are not happy with the performance of armed
forces in relief operation. This could be judge from the fact that
the relief commissioner did not visit Azad Kashmir as yet.
His
talks with NWFP government were limited to office visits so far.
Major General Farooq is accountable to his appointing authority,
i.e. General Musharraf. Prime Minister has nothing to do with his
work and performance. In a parliamentary system, elected House
enjoys veto power and army acts as subservient to the parliament.
He
blasted Kashmiri leaders Sardar Abdul Qayyum and Mir Waiz Umer
Farooq for furthering agenda on Unified Kashmir. They are speaking
the mind of colonial powers who had betrayed Palestinians by with
the farce of a Palestinian state and now out to repeat the same
tale in Kashmir. He said India, Israel and America are exploiting
the troubled time of Kashmiris after the Oct 8 for their own
benefits. He said donors’ conference was another start of debt
based economy.
