MMA to continue raising voice against US
aggression
Lahore, Dec 13:
The MMA president and Jamaat-e-Islami ameer
Qazi Hussain Ahmad has said that at present the strongest voice
opposing the US aggression against Islam is that of MMA, and the
alliance will continue discharging this duty forever by being
united.
He was
talking to newsmen after the meeting of JI central working council
at Mansoorah on Wednesday. He said there are no big differences
among MMA on resigning from assemblies, and whatever petty
differences are there will be sorted out in the next supreme
council meeting. He said we will keep MMA united and invite PML-N
and Tehrik Insaf to join the movement against the dictatorship of
Gen Pervez Musharraf.
Qazi Hussain
Ahmad said the JI members will continue to boycott assembly
proceedings and select committees, adding that he himself has not
been drawing salary or taking any privilege from the assembly. He
said no MMA party has any objection to JI members' boycott of
assembly and committees, and this boycott is voluntary since we
have not pressurized them in this regard.
To a
question, Qazi said if PPP violated Charter of Democracy by
accepting Gen Musharraf dictatorship then its politics will come
to an end. He said resignation issue will be solved by MMA supreme
council in the next meeting.
Meanwhile,
central working council of the party in its resolutions harshly
condemned and rejected Gen Musharraf deviation from
Pakistan's
principled stance on Kashmir by presenting strange new formulas
and the latest statement by foreign office, terming it defeat
attitude. It said surrendering the 60 year stance by an individual
deprived of public mandate just to please
Washington
and support the plan of Greater India is a serious injustice to
both Kashmiris and Pakistanis.
The meeting
announced categorically that
Kashmir is
the lifeline of Pakistan and assured Kashmiri freedom fighters and
people full support in their freedom struggle against the Indian
occupation which was rejected by the UN and guaranteeing them
right to self determination. It assured Kashmiris that their
sacrifices will never go waste and will earn them freedom very
soon.
In another
resolution, the meeting expressed serious concerns over the
Zionist conspiracies against
Middle East
by throwing the whole region into flames. It took serious notice
of the security and political situation in Palestine, Iraq,
Lebanon, Sudan, Iran and Gulf states created by western powers.
It said
depriving Palestinians' elected representatives their democratic
right to form and run government is highly condemnable and said
that now they were being subjected to economic and food blockade
to punish them for exercising their right to franchise according
to their will. They condemned
Washington
for backing the occupant Zionist forces and their conspiracies
aimed at pressurizing Hamas government to acknowledge
Israel by
giving up their just stance of the last six decades.
The meeting
said Washington has adopted divide and rule policy for Muslims in
order to get itself away with the destruction and devastation in
Iraq which has now turned into a grave yard for US forces. The
meeting further criticized Bush administration to sidestepping the
Baker Hamilton committee recommendations which the saner people of
the world had been voicing from the first day American forces
invaded Iraq.
The meeting
lashed out at
Washington
for harassing and conspiring against
Iran
for forcing her to shun its peaceful nuclear program. The meeting
demanded of the Muslims to hold fast to the rope of Allah and get
united by not leaving their brothers alone in trouble and
sufferings. |
