shoora resolution on poltical situation
Lahore,
Nov 7: Jamaat-e-Islami Shoora which concluded its three
day meeting on previous day discussed in details the situation
regarding political, economic, domestic and foreign affairs.
In a resolution passed by the
Shoora it was declared that country's political, economic and
security situation was precarious, the widening gulf of lack of
confidence between center and provinces was turning into a real
threat for the national security, while the pro American policies
of the rulers pushed the country under severe grip of the black
mail of colonist powers, their intervention in internal affairs,
threats and pressure.
The shoora said the people from
all four provinces were extremely disappointed, frustrated and
suffering from serious mental pressure due to uncertainty and
concerns for the future, and they wanted to rid the country of the
slavery.
The shoora held the military
dictatorship and fascist, secular rule was the root cause of all
evils in the country including chaos, threats to national unity
and lawlessness. Gen Musharraf has sabotaged the decisions of
Supreme Court, the objectives of the creation of country and
parliaments' powers, agreements with political parties, and his
promises to the nation. He used army to perpetuate his illegal
rule and to crush political forces in tribal areas and Balochistan
which earned him public hatred. This hatred of army has increased
further after putting the blame of US bombing of Bajaur villages
on Pakistan army.
The Shoora termed Gen Musharraf a
serious security risk for the country and observed that:
-
the constitution is practically
suspended, federal parliamentary system is suppressed under
military dictatorship, and confrontation between federation and
provinces has taken a dangerous shape.
-
country's ideological foundations
have been damaged beyond repair, country has been put on course of
secularism for pleasing Washington by changing syllabi, banning
seminaries and curbing freedoms in mosques to crush the Muslim
identity and culture. Hudood of Allah are being revoked and
obscenity and music has been educated in educational institutions.
Council of Islamic Ideology has been made controversial.
-
all foreign and internal affairs
decisions are being taken under US dictates including the military
operations in tribal areas and Balochistan.
-
country is being distanced from
china and Iran while kashmiris have been made averse to Pakistan
by proposing absurd and illogical solutions on the Kashmir issue
and accepting Indian hegemony. Irresponsible attitude has been
adopted on nuclear technology for its roll back and its father was
humiliated to please Washington. Gen Musharraf in his book
depicted the whole nation as opportunists and coward.
-
all claims of economic
improvement were false as price hike and employment are rising
constantly coupled with the load of foreign debts. Corruption in
government quarters has reached dangerous limits and a serious
fraud was unearthed in the privatization of steel mills with the
help of supreme court. Similarly, all other state units were sold
for peanuts, national wealth has been concentrated in few hands
and public is fleeced in fuel prices which are kept higher despite
sharp decrease in world market.
Shoora announces that a movement
will be launched for the protection of Islamic ideology, supremacy
of Quran and Sunnah, Constitution and parliament, to end military
operation in tribal areas and Balochistan, and secure economic and
democratic rights of the people. Change will be brought with
public support and its last phase will be long march on Rawalpindi
and Islamabad from all corners of the country.
Shoora said elections will be
fraud in the presence of military dictator since all the previous
elections were rigged to benefit the kings party.
The shoora said a national
consultation council meeting will be called very soon to chalk out
strategy to facilitate the transition from military to civilian
rule with the consultation of religious and political leaders,
jurists, economists and other leaders from different walks of
life. |
