Call to pay royalty to NWFP
Lahore, Nov 10:
Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan has demanded of the
federal government to pay outstanding net profit of electricity to
the NWFP government as per decision of arbitration tribunal headed
by Justice (Retd) Ajmal Mian. Ruling against use of hijab
inside court room by Peshawar High Judge is violation of Islamic
norms and the constitution of Pakistan.
This was
stated in two separate resolutions, on NWFP royalty and hijab,
and adopted by the JI shoora which concluded here the other day
with party ameer Qazi Hussain Ahmad in the chair. The resolution
demanded
Islamabad
to make payment of NWFP annual royalty amounting to rupees 24
billion with arrears to the tune of rupees 110 billion. The shoora
regretted delaying tactics of the federal government and said
since the self-appointed arbitration tribunal headed by Justice (Retd)
Ajmal Mian had given its verdict which shall be applied in letter
and spirit by the
Islamabad.
A resolution
on hijab strongly condemned uncalled for criticism against
Islam and its teaching towards modesty. Since the Muslim women are
active in every walk of life and feel more secured and comfortable
in hijab this has irritated the so called forward looking
lot of women folk in the country and abroad.
The
resolution regretted remarks of PHC judge against the use of
hijab by women lawyer and demanded of the government to take
serious notice of such statements. |
