JI condemns eviction of judges from official residences

LAHORE, Dec 4: Jamaat Islami has condemned the government attempts to forcibly evict the judges, who were sacked for not taking oaths under PC, from their official residences.

Addressing a gathering on Tuesday, Jamaat Islami deputy secretary general Dr Farid Paracha said forcibly driving the sacked judges out of their residences was the worst kind of victimization and mean tactics on the party of PCO regime. He said rulers had not only humiliated the judiciary but also the entire nation with such a cheap tactic. He questioned the illegal occupation of large number of official residences by bureaucrats and police officers whom no government dared to touch. But rulers were swift to force the judges out of their residences, which he said was not only a contempt of court but the contempt of the whole Pakistani nation.

He said the nation fully backed the sacked judges and would continue its struggle till the complete abolition of military dictatorship from the country.
