LAHORE, Dec 09: President Pakhtoonkhwa Milli Awami
Party Mehmood Khan Achakzai called on Jamaat-e-Islami ameer Qazi
Hussain Ahmad at Mansoorah on Sunday. The latter hosted luncheon in
the honour of the PMAP leader. Another PMAP leader Akram Shah and
the JI naib ameer Prof Mohammad Ibrahim were also present during the
meeting.
Dilating upon the political situation of the country, both the
leaders expressed unanimous opinion that no elections could be held
free and fair without the restoration of judiciary headed by Justice
Iftikhar Mohammad Chuadhry as its Chief.
"The election overseen by Pervez Musharaff would only be farce and
serve no purpose than dividing National Assembly seats amongst the
favorites. Both the leaders opined that taking part in the election
under current situation amounts to uphold the provisional
constitution. They were of the view that judiciary in Pakistan has
asserted it for the first time in Pakistan; therefore, entire nation
should lend support to the superior judicature.
The Qazi Hussain Ahmad and Mehmood Khan Achakzai shared the same
note that if major political parties did not boycott the elections
without meeting their demands even than Jamaat-e-Islami and other
component parties of the APDM would abstain from taking part in the
fraud election and thereby express solidarity with the judges who
declined oath under the PCO. The vowed to continue struggle for the
restoration of judiciary to Nov 3 position.
