JI leader call for full-fledge protest on
April 13
Lahore, April 9:
Jamaat-e-Islami deputy secretary general Mian Maqsood Ahmad has
warned that Gen Musharraf's attempts to subjugate judiciary are
actually aimed at enslaving the entire nation which must be
resisted because judiciary holds pivotal position for the progress
and prosperity of a country.
In a
statement on Monday, Mian Maqsood appealed to all the countrymen
to assembly in
Islamabad
on April 13 in large numbers to protest against Gen Musharraf's
dictatorship and for the independence of Judiciary, besides
holding such protests all over the country.
He said now the nation has risen for the
salvation of judiciary from the clutches of an individual and time
was not far away when people would get rid of the dictatorship of
that individual. He expressed sorrow that violence and cruelty
ruled all over the country, while common people were starving even
without a single load of bread.
Robbers and plunderers, he pointed out, were
roaming freely on the streets and entire administration and law
enforcing agencies were helpless against them. He said oppressed
people have pinned hopes with the judiciary to provide them
justice and ensure their rights from the control of the ruling
elite. He said it was high time all the people came out on the
streets to punish those who tried to humiliate and dishonor the
institution of judiciary. |
