JI asks Muslim world rulers to press
Palestinian factions for renewal of Makkah Accord
Lahore, July 2:
Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan has appealed to the Muslim world rulers
particularly the Saudi Arabia to exert pressure on Palestinian
Authority president and Al-Fatah leader Mahmoud Abbas for renewal
of Makkah Accord to control the civil war in Palestine.
This demand
was made by Central Council (shoora) of Jamaat-e-Islami in a
resolution passed in its meeting chaired by Qazi Hussain Ahmad.
The resolution expressed condemnation of Pakistani government for
only expressing political and diplomatic support to Mahmoud Abbas
instead of helping the newly elected government of
Palestine,
saying in this way Islamabad displayed a partiality and its role
of mediation between the two groups was left questionable.
The Shoora
condemned the neighboring countries of
Palestine for
arranging meetings between Mahmoud Abbas and Zionist regime, joint
conferences and agreements etc. instead of arranging talks and
reconciliation between Hamas and Al-Fatah. The Shoora expressed
sorrow that the Makkah Accord and national government formula
which was signed under the witness of the Holy abode of Allah
Almighty was not implemented in Palestine even for one day and
that those countries and Muslim world avoided to make even a half
hearted effort to restore the sanctity of Makkah Accord following
the civil war.
The
resolution expressed deep sorrow and concerns over the Zionists
atrocities in
Palestine
and their total patronization by Washington, besides the
conspiracies to promote the civil war in the occupied Palestine.
It also condemned the statements from different countries
indicating sending the Jordanian army, Dahlan group of Al-Fatah,
and Zionist or UN forces to Gaza to crush the Hamas. The Shoora
demanded of the whole world to prevent Zionist regime and their
allies to commit any further foolishness in the occupied
territories. The Shoora supported the statements by Hamas leader
Khalid Meshal, elected Palestinian Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh
and some responsible leaders of Al-Fatah that both Hamas and Al-Fatah
leaderships should solve all the differences through dialogue. The
Shoora expressed full cooperation and backing to the Palestine
liberation struggle, and every Palestinian Muslim brother involved
in this struggle on behalf of the Pakistani nation, assuring them
that no Muslim should ever forego the first Qiblah of the Muslims
and would continue their support to Palestinian jihad.
In another
resolution on
Kashmir, the JI Shoora expressed condemnation for Musahrraf regime
for taking a U-turn on Kashmir issue by deviating from the UN
resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri and Pakistani
nation on the issue.
The Shoora
rejected what it called the rash Kashmir policy of Gen Musharraf
and reminded him that Delhi has always been sticking to its
stubborn stance on Kashmir issue which was also reiterated in the
recently held in SAARC conference in Simla. The Shoora said on the
other hand Gen Musharraf has been presenting various new options
every now and then which worked as weakening
Pakistan's
stance on the issue and rather sabotaged the freedom struggle of
kashmiris, which is highly condemnable. It observed that
inflexible Indian attitude has exposed the claims of Gen Musahrraf
that his flexibility had bring the issue close to solution. The
Shoora said such stance of Gen Musharraf is completely deceptive
and fraudulent which should not be accepted at any cost.
The resolution paid glowing tributes to
Kashmiri freedom fighters and their leadership particularly that
of Syed Ali Shah Gilani and his courageous attitude, and the
Kashmiri people's will to annex with Pakistan despite the betrayal
by Pakistani rulers, and said Pakistani nation deeply value this
stance and assure them of its full cooperation and backing of
their freedom struggle against the Indian occupant forces. |
