Fresh attacks on innocent civilians inside Pakistan condemned Lahore, June 23: President MMA and ameer of Jamaat Islami Qazi Hussain Ahmad has strongly condemned the US-led allied forces in Afghanistan for making fresh attacks against innocent civilians inside Pakistani territory and termed it another open attack against sovereignty of Pakistan. He was talking to newsmen after inaugurating new emergency ward of Surayya Azim hospital here Saturday. Qazi Hussain Ahmad said Musharraf regime has badly failed in protecting national borders and the lives and properties of innocent civilians. He said a new series of attacks against Pakistan has begun after the visits of US officials but as usual Musharraf regime is not speaking against the blatant violations of Pakistani borders and killings of innocent civilians by the Allied forces. He termed the issue is a matter of great shame for the military rulers since they are not even protesting before Washington against the violation of national borders and massacre of innocent civilians but on the other hand claiming responsibility for NATO attacks besides declaring innocent civilians as terrorists. The MMA chief asked other generals of the army to wake up and take stock of the situation if Gen Musharraf has closed his eyes towards national interests, defense of borders and killing of innocent citizens, adding that such a situation is widening the gulf between army and the people. Gen Musharraf, Qazi Sahib said, is standing along side of those who committed blasphemy against the Prophet of Islam (pbuh), adding that British government has deliberately committed a terrorism against Muslims by awarding Salman Rushdie to instigate and provoke them. Qazi said the resolutions, walkout and protests by the government against Britain were just eyewash to calm down public anger. He said protests are the job of opposition parties while government's job is to take action from which the rulers are avoiding. He asked the rulers to quit the alliance with US and UK if they were sincere in their protests. He lauded the social service activities of Jamaat-e-Islami adding that the actual job of the party is to serve the humanity. He said JI's welfare organizations, hospitals, dispensaries and educational institutions are already doing a good deal of social services to the people all over the country. He appealed to the people to come forward to cooperate with the welfare institutions like Surayya Azim hospital. Hafiz Salman Butt said on the occasion that bed capacity of Surayya Azim hospital would be raised from 125 to 400. Hafiz Salman Butt, Amirul Azim, Major (R) Khurshid Zaman and Naveed Anwar were also present on the occasion. |
