Qazi flays rulers for bombing public rallies LAHORE, Nov. 2: Jamaat-e-Islami ameer and MMA president Qazi Hussain Ahmad has announced that there is no vacuum of leadership in the country and no need to have any leadership from abroad either. He will lead the nation’s struggle against military dictatorship in his capacity as ameer of JI and president of MMA, he said while delivering inaugural address to the 3-day JI convention for members and aspirants of membership on Friday at Shamki Bhattian, 24 kms from Lahore on Multan road. Qazi said JI is working with MMA, APDM and other opposition parties on commonalities. He warned the military rulers not to play the game of enemies inside the country. “Rulers should not blast bombs in political gatherings and not block the path of peaceful people by massacres, curfew, barricades, deployment of armed forces and police etc.” He said after imposing curfew and deploying army and police against the unarmed peaceful masses, the rulers have been claiming that masses were not ready to come on streets on opposition’s call. He further warned that such tactics of military rulers will not allow democratic process to continue and if people got frustrated they would raise guns against guns, like what happened in tribal areas and NWFP. Qazi emphasized that “there is no element of violence in our movement, nor we promote killings and bloodshed. We are organized and disciplined people who believe in service to humanity and will never compromise on the path shown by Islam.” He said “we never turn our faces from Jihad and sacrices. Desire of martyrdom fills our hearts but we never want violence and chaos, rather we will cure those spreading violence.” Qazi said enemies of Islam and Pakistan want to create anarchy in the country so as to provide an opportunity to American army for direct intervention. Enemies are against our nuclear program, army, ulema, mosques and madaris, and want to spread western vulgar civilization in the country. He said JI is fully prepared to counter the enemies and others creating chaos in the country. He said Jamaat-e-Islami is the hope of the country and will lead the nation to its destiny. He emphasized that our religion is nothing separate from the world and it teaches us the discipline how to lead our lives, govern the people and give due rights to everyone. He said in complete darkness Maulana Maudoodi launched the movement to unite the people on the course of Holy Prophet (pbuh). He did not call towards any new Deen, school of thought or Fiqh but towards the Quran and Sunnah, and keep JI out of all kinds of sectarianism and religious biases, that is why the whole nation is united around JI. Qazi asked JI members not to worry from the statements by certain people, adding that the character and record of JI and its leadership is clean and spotless. He said no finger can be raised on the character of the JI ministers in NWFP government. NAB has no record of our people and JI cannot be maligned because of the disrepute and faults of others, adding that people have full faith on JI people. He said JI members should wait for others to take lead in leading the nation, since they are the ones who have to show the right path to the people and give them confidence. He said the wave of reawakening is seen all over the Muslim world which has been created by organizations like JI, Akhwanul Muslimoon, Hamas, and other Muslim movements in Turkey, Indonesia and Malaysia. He said it is better for JI people to suffer inconvenience at the hands of MMA rather than sit quietly in a corner. He said JI leadership has analyzed in meetings of Shoora and Central Executive Council that benefits of MMA are more than disadvantages, and it will lead towards betterment since pious and sincere people are joining us. Qazi urged upon the members to come out with the call towards Islam and win more friends and supporters. And when there will be a call for come out in the field, the JI members should be seen in the frontline and avoid all kinds of hesitation and weakness. |
