Lust for dollars jeopardized security of Pakistan:
Dr Aslam Siddiqi

LAHORE, Nov. 2: Renowned Islamic scholar Dr Aslam Siddiqi has said that an army is for defending the national borders and countries can never be defended by hired soldiers. Pakistan is facing a civil war like situation because our army chief is fighting war of others for the sake of dollars and making national army kill their own countrymen, he said while delivering Friday sermon at the start of Jamaat-e-Islami’s 3-day members convention at Shamki Bhattian, 24 kms from Lahore on Multan road.

Dr Aslam Siddiqi said Gen Musharraf is risking the national unity, security and solidarity for the sake of pleasing Americans because he is stubborn against leaving his illegal power and his companions are glued to him tightly for the sake of perks and privileges. He warned that ruling junta must understand that all troubles in the world are created by the unjust desire for power, and that power and honor is only God-given and cannot be achieved by bowing before enemies of Islam.

He said going in assemblies is necessary because it is a platform to govern the country and legislate, and those who allowed floor of the assembly to the followers of devil should be held answerable to Allah. He said preachers don’t go to assemblies for the love of it but for the sake of reforming the society. He said the workers of Islamic movement are the true Muslims and recognized from a distance with their appearance and attitude.

He said a Muslim can overcome every crisis with the help of the love of Allah and His Prophet (pbuh) and the fear of the Judgment Day. Deen is the name of allegiance to Allah and His Prophet, and every Muslim should prove his allegiance by his deeds and give top priority to the Deen in every aspect of life by displaying patience, perseverance, confidence and firm belief in Allah.

He recalled that first Khalifah Hazrat Abubakar Siddiq (ra) put all his belongings at stake just to save on pillar (Zakat) of Islam. Likewise, he said, saving other pillars of islam should be our top priority today. He said companions of Holy Prophet (pbuh) sacrificed everything, even their lives for the sake of Islam and they displayed the highest degree of the love for the Holy Prophet (pbuh) so much that the love of the world totally vanished from their hearts.

He said the Holy Prophet (pbuh) was sent for the guidance of all human beings of all times to come, and after him it is the collective responsibility of the Ummah to take up the responsibility to carry on his mission.
