      Resolutions of JI convention

LAHORE, Nov 4: Jamaat Islami has expressed serious concerns over the fast deteriorating law and order situation in the country saying that police and other secret agencies have deviated from their prime duty of providing security to the citizens and instead busy full time in victimizing opponents of the rulers besides providing protocol to them.

In different resolutions passed by the JI members convention at Shamki Bhattian which concluded on Sunday, the gathering of over thirty thousand JI members said citizens are at the mercy of dacoits and thieves, while street crimes have crossed every limit. As a result of terrorism due to unjust and unwise policies of the rulers, no place inside the country is safe including army cantonments, markets and mosques, while rulers are comfortably dishonoring the army just to fulfill the US agenda.

Another resolution expressed sorrow over the tragedies of Jamia Hafsa, Bajaur, Waziristan and Swat, saying the massacre of innocent women, children and elderly people have drawn a bloody divide between the nation and the army, particularly the Jamia Hafsa massacre proved the rulers had no vision and consideration for country’s future and could kill as many citizens as required to please Washington.

In the name of establishing writ of the government the rulers had abducted hundreds of patriotic citizens in the name of extremism and were openly violating the court order s to further their nefarious designs. The resolution said Gen MUsharraf has been blindly implementing US agenda, whereas US want to ignite civil war in the country to take control of the nuclear assets in this garb. It said the solution of all these problems lies in getting rid of Gen MUsharraf’s dictatorship, sending army back to the barracks and installing an impartial interim government to hold free, fair and transparent elections.

In a resolution on spiraling price hike and economic unstability, the convention said now even the basic necessities have got out of reach of the common man while they were already struggling for basic facilities like education, health, employment, justice and security. The daily rising prices have made it impossible for the common man to make both ends meet. While on the other hand the rulers are spending billions of rupees on false publicity as election stunt which amount to sprinkling salt on people’s injuries. It also expressed concern over the free hand given to multinational companies which are fleecing public and transferring capital from the country.

IN other resolutions the convention expressed concern over government’s U-turn on Kashmir policy and stabbing the freedom fighters in the back by extending friendship with India at the cost of Kashmir’s liberation. It said this policy amount to giving Kashmiri Muslims in Indian occupation forever. The convention condemned Israeli aggression on Palestinians and said criminal silence of Washington, London and other nations on the systematic violations of fundamental rights and civil liberties is a proof of their patronage to Zionists and their expansionist policies. On the other hand West has been providing Israel with unlimited arms and other aid to continue its illegal occupation of Palestinian lands and the genocide of Muslims in the name of terrorism and extremism, besides Washington’s denial to Hamas government its right to govern the Palestinian Authorty despite landslide electoral victory also exposed its double standards against Muslims and actual commitment to the cause of democracy.
