Qazi deplores blast in Benazir welcome rally
LAHORE, Oct 19: MMA president
and Jamaat Islami ameer Qazi Hussain Ahmad has condemned the bomb
blasts in Benazir Bhutto's procession in Karachi, expressing shock
and sorrow over the loss of precious lives. He held the rulers and
anti-democratic forces responsible for the carnage and warned that
such incidents would recur if people's will was continued to be
overruled by dictatorial forces.
In a statement Qazi Hussain Ahmad said the responsibility of
blasts lay on the elements opposed to the public activities by
religious and political forces that could pose any threat to
generals' dictatorship. Qazi said such elements had the capability
to crush public activities from mosques to streets, adding that if
culprits of putting corpses in gunny bags in Karachi, and carnage
of Nishtar park and May 12 had been exposed then nobody could have
dared to put bombs in PPP procession.
The MMA president said the federal and provincial governments,
besides the secret agencies which had been claiming of providing
fool proof security to Beanzir Bhutto, totally failed in their
tasks and also remained helpless in providing timely medical aid
to the victims. He said agencies always come out with the theory
of suicide attack after such blasts to exonerate their own
responsibility, although millions of people observed the blast in
police van on TV. He said the perpetrators of the blasts were the
enemies of democracy and people's politics, and were working to
continue the generals' rule at every cost. (#) |
