LAHORE, January 01: President Muttahida Majlise Amal
and ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Qazi Hussain has said that the
solution to problems encountering Pakistan does not lie in the delay
of election but resignation of Pervez Musharraf.
He was talking to Indian TV channel Zee News here on Tuesday. Qazi
Hussain Ahmad said interim government is comprised of masters of
rigging in elections. The entire drama is being staged to protect
the unconstitutional rule of Pervez Musharraf. "I resigned from the
parliament due to policies of General Pervez Musharraf so there is
no point to enter into sham elections under his rule once again," he
told the Zee reporter in reply to a query about boycotting
elections.
He held the Washington and his lackeys responsible for the mess in
Pakistan saying both the countries (India/Pakistan) can live in
peace after the resolution of Kashmir issue. "This will benefit them
a lot."
The Jamaat ameer maintained that the APDM has in principle decided
that without the restoration of judiciary prior to November 3
position, formation of an independent election commission in
consultation with opposition parties, no transparent elections could
be held in the country. The interim government was formed without
consulting any political party in the country; therefore, we do not
expect any free and fair elections under it.
To a question about Kashmir problem, Qazi Hussain Ahmad said its
resolution will usher in an era of prosperity and peace for both the
countries. New Delhi will get access to markets in Central Asia and
Russia. This will rid them from the evil designs of big powers. He
said according to division plan of united Sub-Continent and due to
Muslim majority area, Kashmir is part of Pakistan. "The people of
Kashmir should be given their right to self determination under the
UN resolutions."
He was of the view that an email message of late Benazir Bhutto to
Mark Siegel is an FIR against Pervez Musharraf who did not provide
her adequate security after life threats. He did not concede to the
demand of international investigation of the Benazir's assassination
saying that the frequent U-turn of the government statement
vis-à-vis about the killing of former prime minister are casting
doubts. (#)
