Musharraf closed doors of justice: Qazi

LAHORE, Jan 23: Jamaat-e-Islami ameer Qazi Hussain Ahmad has reiterated that free, fair and transparent elections are impossible in the presence of partisan election commissioner, partisan judges of supreme court who took oaths under PCO and the controversial caretaker governments.

Gen Musharraf has closed the doors of justice by forcibly dismissing chief justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhri and sixty others judges, he said while addressing the oath taking ceremony of the newly elected members of district Bar association Nowshera on Wednesday. Newly elected president Ijaz Mohammad Khan and secretary general Mujahid Ali also addressed on the occasion.

Qazi praised the movement of the lawyers for establishing the supremacy of the constitution and rule of law, restoration of constitution and democracy and reinstatement of chief justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhri and sixty other judges who were illegally removed by Gen Musharraf, saying such a movement is unprecedented in the history of the country. He assured the lawyers community that Jamaat-e-Islami and APDM will go hand in hand with the lawyers in their struggle. He lashed out at Gen Musahrraf saying he is implementing the agenda of colonists and imperialists for the sake of his power.
