LAHORE, Jan 29: Jamaat-e-Islami secretary general Syed Munawar Hasan has said that west's colonist attitude is the root cause of all evils in Pakistan.

In a statement on Tuesday, he criticized the warm welcome given to Gen Musharraf in the western countries, saying the one who abrogated the constitution and violated the human rights, laws of land and civil liberties was warmly welcomed and given a pat on the back as a hero in the west.

He said the west opposed all the eastern traditions including the decisions of Jirgas but warmly embraced and saluted the military dictator who massacred unarmed women in mosque, issued death threats to Akbar Bugti before killing him and hurled threats to journalists while sitting in London.

Munawar said the glaring proof of western double standards of democracy, justice and people's rights exposed from the fact that they accorded warm welcome to Gen Musharraf who unconstitutionally dismissed and detained chief justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhri and sixty other judges of the supreme court.
