Samad taught politicians, generals self respect: Qazi

LAHORE, Jun 18: Jamaat-e-Islami ameer Qazi Hussain Ahmad has praised the Pakistani student Samad Khurram who refused receive award from the US ambassador to Pakistan Anne W Patterson to protest against American attacks on tribal areas.

In a statement on Thursday, Qazi Hussain Ahmad said the act of Samad Khurram expressed the sentiments of the entire Pakistani nation by apprising the world community including the American public opinion about the reaction their aggression has generated among the Pakistani people.

Qazi said Samad has shook the conscience of the political leaders and the top government officials and taught them to live with self respect at a time when entire political and government machinery are busy bowing down before American Ambassador and making rounds of the Embassy. Qazi said the courage of Samad Khurram was enough to open the eyes of military generals who were bowing before the American officials instead of defending the nation against the American attacks.

Qazi said now it should sand clear to the political and military leadership of the country that the nation especially the youth are not ready for further slavery of the America. He said the action showed the actual level of patriotism and sensibility of Pakistani young generation.

Qazi Hussain Ahmad also congratulated the parents of Samad Khurram for being parents of such a bright and courageous son who has good sense of freedom and self respect.
