LAHORE, Mar 18: Jamaat-e-Islami ameer and MMA President Qazi Hussain Ahmad has said that Gen Musharraf has pushed the country at the brink of disaster by implementing US policies, and his removal is necessary to save the country from devastation.

He was addressing a training workshop of JI office bearers at Qurtaba on Tuesday.

Qazi said law and order in the country has been precariously destroyed, even security agencies are insecure and a target of suicide attacks, while the people continue to suffer from serious crises of power, edibles and other essential facilities of life. He warned that if situation continued like that the country could face serious drought and famine.

Qazi said Gen Musharraf has been fighting a war of Zionists, Americans and Indians against his own countrymen over the last eight years. He said 9-11 was carried out by Zionists but Muslims have been punished ever since it happened under this garb. He said America has created an artificial fear of Al Qaeda and Taliban, and has made a fool of Muslim rulers particularly those of Pakistan in the name of war against terror. Qazi said in fact America wants to crush the power of Muslims and their religious spirit of Jihad under the pretext of terrorism.

Qazi expressed sorrow that Muslim rulers have closed their eyes towards US conspiracies against Muslims, and their cowardice has led the whole Muslim world to a precarious position. He said Gen Musharraf has pledged country's sovereignty, security and honor before Washington by becoming a frontline ally of US against the wishes of Pakistani people. He said Islamabad's criminal silence over US missile strikes in tribal areas and violation of Pakistan's sovereignty are actually emboldening the Washington to commit further aggression against the innocent tribal people.

Qazi demanded immediate withdrawal of army from tribal areas and reversal of pro American policies to bring peace back in the country.
