LAHORE, Mar 27: Jamaat-e-Islami information secretary Amirul Azim has taken strong exception to the statement of President Gen Retd Pervez Musharraf that Pakistan was fighting war against terror in its own interests and US gained vital successes in the war due to Islamabad's cooperation."

In his rejoinder on Thursday, Amirul Azim said Gen Musharraf not only pledged Pakistan's independence, security and honor before Washington by literally making the country as US state but also committed massacre of his own innocent countrymen for taking personal favors from Washington.

Azim said Pakistan is the only country in the world whose army is fighting against its own citizens. Pakistan is sustaining the whole brunt of the US hue and cry against war on terror, while the US faced none of the terror incident after 9-11. Azim said it had already proved that Taliban were not involved in 9-11 and Zionists were behind it. US dubbed the war outright as 'Crusade' which was continued against Muslims till today, he said.

Azim said US massacred half a million people in Afghanistan and close to one million in Iraq in the so called war on terror, which revealed the actual aims of the war.

He urged upon the new government to take strong notice of shameless American intervention in Islamabad's domestic affairs and make their policy clear according to public mandate which called for immediate end to American meddling in Pakistan. He said new government owed respect to public mandate and aspirations.
