Announces to renew countrywide campaign against Israel over Palestine

KARACHI: AUGUST 12: Jamaat-e-Islami Emir Engr Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has demanded the authorities to address the burning issues of Karachi as the rook has already cooked, otherwise, he said, the JI would have no other option but to lead a massive rights movement to uproot the corrupt politics.
The JI supremo expressed these views while addressing a press conference held at Idara Noor-e-Haq — the JI Karachi headquarters, here on Tuesday. He was flanked by JI Karachi Emir Monem Zafar and other leaders, including Saifuddin Advocate, Zahid Askari and several town chairmen.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that Karachi became a hub of crises. There are acute crises of water, power, education, health, transport and other sectors, he said. The JI and Karachiites have paid the price for ethnic politics by the MQM and other quarters, so we don’t want any such scenario, he said, adding that however the injustice and negligence by those in the corridors of powers, was pushing the situation towards the point of no return.
He elaborated that the youth, in the country in general and Karachi in particular, were hopeless, over 110 million people out of the total 250 million population were already living under the line of poverty and the country was facing trust deficit among its own citizens. He said that Karachi youth were deliberately kept deprive of jobs and hope for future and livelihood opportunities.
Talking about the education sector, he said that educational institutions were sold out and handed over to the NGO sector. He said that in the prestigious institution of NED University, merit seats were reduced to increase self-finance. In this backdrop, he said, education was whisked away from the lower and lower-middle economic class. Similarly, he said, grants for universities had been suspended.
He said that the economy was also suffering in the country. He highlighted massive discrepancies in the RLNG contracts. The electricity was surplus in the country, yet Karachiites were facing loadshedding, besides bearing with water, gas, health and education crises, he said.
He held the PPP government in Sindh responsible for fanning ethnicity in the mega city while highlighting the bunch of crises and explaining how badly the Sindh government handles them. He highlighted the transport issue and said that over 550 Karachiites were killed in seven months during the past seven months. Dumper, tankers and trailers operate as a mafia in Karachi as the PPP failed to regulate their timings and routes, he said. The JI leader added that the PPP government held dialogue with the dumpers mafia but arrested innocent citizens even from roadside hotels in a bid to stir ethnicity-based violence.
The JI leader said that the PPP and the MQM were badly rejected by Karachi and Karachiites but the establishment imposed both of them on Karachi, whereas the duo failed the citizens in the most brazen manner.
He further said that Karachi needs 15000 busses but the government could manage to run only 400, whereas Rs4 billion had already been spent on their advertisements. He also highlighted the government showing cold shoulders to the much-needed K4 water supply project. He said that the solid waste management system also became an opportunity to mint money.
He said that the establishment had assured Karachiites that “system” would be uprooted but it was more strengthened and installed in Islamabad. The prevailing system and approach towards Karachi wont work, he said.
He said that the judicial system was already devastated, the 26th Constitutional Amendment deprived the judiciary of its powers, whereas the 27th amended would be the last nail in its coffin. He condemned the politically motivated judgements that sowed further unrest. He was of the views that the cases filed PTI stalwart and leaders were politically motivated because Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif and Pakistan People Party (PPP) head Asif Ali Zardari should have been serving the jail term, if cases against Imran Khan were based on his corruption.
On the occasion, he also highlighted the JI’s contribution for the city and said that the elected local government representatives, belonging to the JI, had kept their promise and delivered even beyond their powers and expectations.
He urged those in the corridors of powers to limit the mafias, imposed on Karachi in the name of political parties. He said that the PPP mayor was imposed on Karachi while violating the right of not only the JI but Karachiites. He further said that the city makes the country functioning but none was ready to facilitate the city.
