Liaquat Baloch: Public Gathering at Minar-e-Pakistan Will Pave Way for Systemic Change
Lahore – October 21. Acting Emir of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Liaquat Baloch, has announced that the upcoming public gathering at Greater Iqbal Park, under the shadow of Minar-e-Pakistan, will be historic and lay the foundation for a peaceful Islamic revolution in the country.
In a statement issued from Mansoorah on Tuesday, Baloch invited people from all walks of life to participate in the three-day nationwide public gathering. He said all arrangements for the event are being finalized, and various committees have been formed to assign responsibilities to individuals for smooth execution.
JI Emir Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman will deliver a key address to the participants during the gathering. The event, scheduled for November 21–23, is expected to draw hundreds of thousands of participants from across the country. Leaders of international Islamic movements, student delegations from abroad, and experts from various fields have also been invited. Special arrangements have been made to accommodate a large number of women attendees. The gathering will feature various training and consultation sessions.
Liaquat Baloch emphasized that through this public gathering, Jamaat-e-Islami will initiate a peaceful and organized resistance to end the country’s alarming political divisions, uphold the constitution and law, protect democracy and personal freedoms, maintain public order, and safeguard fundamental rights.
He added that the current state of the country has left the public, especially the youth, disillusioned. The economy is in turmoil, inflation is crushing the common man, and federal and provincial governments are focused on securing privileges for vested interests while ignoring ordinary citizens. Powerful elite groups dominate resources. In these circumstances, Liaquat Baloch said, Jamaat-e-Islami represents a new hope for the nation. The public gathering will serve as a prelude to genuine change and the elimination of the outdated system.
