JI Holds Nationwide Protests Against Israeli Strike in Qatar

Islamabad/Lahore/Peshawar – September 10: On the call of Jamaat-e-Islami Emir Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman, large-scale protests were held across Pakistan on Wednesday to denounce Israel’s strike targeting Hamas leaders in Doha, Qatar. Demonstrations took place in federal and provincial capitals, as well as dozens of major and smaller cities, with participants condemning the attack as an act of terrorism backed by the United States.
In Islamabad, JI Islamabad chief Engineer Nasrullah Randhawa addressed the rally, declaring that the assault on Hamas leadership was part of a joint U.S.-Israeli conspiracy aimed at destabilizing the region. In Lahore, a large protest was staged on Mall Road, led by JI Lahore emir Ziauddin Ansari Advocate. Participants carried placards and banners denouncing Israel and chanting slogans in solidarity with Palestinians. JI Central Punjab emir Javed Kasuri also condemned the “barbaric” Israeli actions, saying the Doha strike had exposed Israel’s utter disregard for international law. Protests were reported in Kasur, Okara, Sahiwal, Pakpattan, Narowal, Chiniot, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Hafizabad, Sialkot, Sheikhupura, and Nankana Sahib, where local JI leaders joined demonstrators.
From northern Punjab, rallies were held in Rawalpindi, Chakwal, Jhelum, Talagang, Sargodha, and Gujrat. In Gujrat, JI North Punjab chief Dr. Tariq Saleem addressed protesters, declaring that Muslim rulers’ silence had become a dark chapter in history.
In Sindh, protests spread from Karachi to Kashmore. At a rally in Hyderabad, JI leader Hafiz Tahir Majid condemned the Israeli strike as a “direct assault on the sovereignty of Qatar.” Other leaders including Nader Khosa, Syed Ali Mardan Shah, and Tahir Majid addressed gatherings across the province. Demonstrations were reported in Larkana, Badin, Dadu, Jamshoro, Shikarpur, Jacobabad, and Kandhkot.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, major protests were staged in Peshawar, Bannu, Karak, Malakand, Swabi, Charsadda, and other districts. JI KP North chief Inayatullah Khan led a large rally in Batkhela, while in Peshawar, a march was organized from the party’s district headquarters. Addressing participants, JI district emir Bahrullah Khan Advocate said the attack was a blatant violation of international law. KP South Secretary General Muhammad Zahoor Khattak and Mufti Arifullah told demonstrators in Bannu and Karak that Israel’s crimes had surpassed even those of Hitler. Throughout the country, speakers called Israel a blot on humanity and urged the international community to hold it accountable for repeated violations of international law. Participants raised slogans against Israeli aggression and carried banners declaring support for the Palestinian cause. JI leaders warned that unless the Muslim world acted decisively, Israel would continue to destabilize the Middle East with U.S. support.
