JI Chief condemns India after minister removes veil of Muslim woman
Lahore – December 17: Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Emir Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman has sharply criticized India, saying the country that calls itself the world’s largest democracy has now turned into a fascist state.
Commenting on social media platform X about an incident in which an Indian state minister forcibly removed the veil of a Muslim woman, he said the act was not carried out secretly by an ordinary thug but openly by a sitting Chief Minister in front of the entire world. According to him, this reflects the clear mindset of Islamophobia, anti-Muslim sentiment, and Hindutva ideology prevailing in India.
Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman expressed disappointment that the government of Pakistan had not issued a strong condemnation of the incident. He urged all Muslim countries to at least summon the Indian ambassadors to register formal protests. He added that the entire Muslim world should unite in condemning India over the matter.
