Feudal Power Prevails as Justice Fails in Chandio Murder Case: Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman
Lahore: March 30: Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Emir Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman has strongly criticized the court verdict in the murder case of Ummme Rubab Chandio’s father, grandfather, and uncle, stating that feudalism has won while justice has lost.
In a statement posted on social media platform X, he said that the acquittal of all accused by a court reflects that the country’s justice system remains under the influence of powerful feudal elites.
He remarked that the verdict once again demonstrates how the justice system appears helpless before influential segments of society, making the provision of justice to ordinary citizens increasingly difficult.
Paying tribute to Umme Rubab Chandio’s struggle, he said that the nation salutes her historic and courageous fight for justice.
Criticizing the PPP, he questioned whether Umme Rubab Chandio is not considered a daughter of Sindh, asking if only powerful feudal figures are favored by the party leadership despite its nationalist political stance.
Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman also called on political parties and human rights organizations to stand in solidarity with Umme Rubab Chandio and raise their voice for justice.
