Political parties controlled by mafias, top brasses detached from people's problems, says Naeemur Rehman

Says corrupt system ruling over country; 90pc factory labourers work under 3rd party contract system

KARACHI 21 June: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Pakistan Ameer Engr Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has said that mafias are running every major political party in the country except the JI, while the top tier leadership of these parties remains disconnected from the problems faced by ordinary citizens.
The JI leader expressed these views while addressing the people assembled during his visit to the membership camps in Malir and Kemari areas of Karachi.
He said that the ruling political elite had little understanding of the hardships confronting the common people, including unemployment, inflation, inadequate public services and lack of access to quality education.
He maintained that vested interests and influential elite were dictating political decisions, preventing meaningful reforms and depriving citizens of their basic rights.
The JI chief said that Jamaat-e-Islami was the only political party consistently raising public issues and working at the grassroots level. He added that the party not only organized Dars-e-Quran programmes but also offered skill-based courses and internship opportunities to equip young people with practical tools for personal and professional growth.
Engr Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said that a corrupt system continued to dominate the country's affairs, enabling exploitation and deepening social inequalities.
Referring to labour issues, he said that minimum wage laws were not being enforced and that nearly 90 per cent of workers were employed through third-party contract systems, depriving them of security and fair benefits.
He also criticized the Sindh government, saying that despite the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) ruling the province for the past 18 years, Karachi had been deprived of its due share of resources.
He said that the share of Karachi during the past 1.8 decades, Rs3,360 billion, had not been delivered, contributing to persistent civic and infrastructure problems.
The JI leader further stressed that education was not a priority for the country's ruling elite and reiterated that it was the government's responsibility to provide quality education and a uniform curriculum.
He also urged the nation to reject divisions based on sectarian and ethnic identities, saying such divisions could not lead the country towards progress or prosperity.
JI Karachi Acting Ameer Saifuddin Advocate and local JI leaders Mufakhir Ahmed and Fazal Ahad also addressed the participants at their camps respectively at Hospital Chowrangi in Malir and Bhattai Chowrangi in Kemari. Furthermore JI Karachi Secretary Information Zahid Askari also shared the stage.
Earlier, the JI supremo was showered with rose petals and was given a warm welcome on his arrival.
