PPP, MQM equally responsible for Karachi destruction, says Naeemur Rehman
Says time has come to get rid of establishment's A plus team -- PPP
Karachi, June 23: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Pakistan Ameer Engr Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman, addressing participants of a public campaign in Karachi, said that the Pakistan People Party (PPP) and the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) both were hands in gloves to destroy Karachi.
The JI leader further said that after the political demise of the MQM, the time has come to get rid of the PPP that had become the establishment's A plus team.
He was of the view that people of Karachi and the rest of Pakistan are partners in progress and prosperity, and that Jamaat-e-Islami is standing with the public against injustice and misgovernance.
He stated that citizens are facing severe difficulties because of inflation, unemployment, and poor governance. He said the ruling elite and powerful groups have continued to benefit while ordinary people have been burdened by economic hardships.
Hafiz Naeemur Rehman criticized government policies, saying that national resources have been exploited by influential interests. He called for accountability, transparent governance, and policies that serve the public rather than privileged groups.
The JI supreme leader emphasized that his party is working to protect the rights of citizens and provide a genuine alternative political platform. He urged people, especially the youth, to participate actively in efforts aimed at reform and public welfare.
The event was also addressed by local Jamaat-e-Islami leaders, including Saifuddin Advocate and Fazal Ahad, who highlighted civic issues in Karachi and discussed plans for public campaigns and local government initiatives.
