Iranian Envoy Meets Hafiz Naeem, Calls for Stronger Pak-Iran Ties
ISLAMABAD: June 30: Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan Reza Amiri Moghaddam, along with a delegation, met Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Emir Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman at his Islamabad office on Tuesday, discussing regional developments, Pak-Iran relations, challenges facing the Muslim world, Gaza and Palestine, and the need for greater unity among Muslim countries.
During the meeting, Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman appreciated the struggle and resilience of the Iranian government and people, saying that Iran’s stance and resistance had compelled the United States and Israel to reconsider their positions, while Washington was forced to engage in an agreement with Tehran. He said the development was not only significant for Iran but also a source of encouragement for the Muslim world.
The JI Emir stressed that unity, cooperation and collective efforts among Muslim countries were essential in the current circumstances, as divisions and conflicts only benefited their opponents. He said Israeli aggression and atrocities against Palestinians remained a major cause of instability in the region.
He called for a complete ceasefire in Gaza and Lebanon, urging the international community to ensure justice for Palestinians and support their right to establish an independent state. He added that lasting peace in the Middle East was impossible without ending Israeli aggression and resolving the Palestinian issue fairly.
Iranian Ambassador Reza Amiri Moghaddam thanked the Pakistani government, people and Jamaat-e-Islami for their support during difficult times. He emphasized the importance of further strengthening brotherly relations between Pakistan and Iran and promoting cooperation among Muslim countries.
The two sides also discussed recent tensions between Iran and the United States, diplomatic efforts for regional stability, and Pakistan’s role in promoting peace and dialogue.
JI Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Emir Abdul Wasi and Special Assistant to JI Emir Atta-ur-Rehman were also present during the meeting.
